Quadzilla Motor In LTZ400 Chassis

Default Quadzilla Motor In LTZ400 Chassis

How is the vibration? I toyed with the idea of a CR500 engine into a TRX250R frame as a project bike, but I heard they can rattle the fillings out of your mouth. I guess it can't be to bad if they had the LT500 motor in a quad chassis already.

wow, nice work man, i bet that thing is super fun to ride, im never getting rid of my lt250r,
are those motors air cooled?, i always thought they were liquid cooled like the 250s

The LT500R motor is counterbalanced, the CR/KX conversions are not... that's the difference in vibration.

The LT500R motor is counterbalanced, the CR/KX conversions are not... that's the difference in vibration.

That is an awesome quad! If I had the money I would stick the engine from my zilla in a new bike like that in a second.

That thing is sweet!! I'd put a casesaver on that thing though, especially with the angle of the chain. Did you gussset the frame in the usual places ?

Nice work Dave! I have a Zilla motor swap planned for my 86 LT250R, if it comes out anywhere near as nice as yours I'll be happy. I read on macdizzy that you need a pipe. If you look at my pics, the last one is a hybrid pipe that Dr. Q just made for me. I haven't run it yet, but the build quality is top notch.
