Default Z400 Big Bore

How many of you guys actually recommend a big bore for my Z? I have a full Yoshi exhaust, K&N filter (no lid), and jet. If so where can I find the right Big Bore Kit? Trying to keep up with my cuz and his yfz 450.

Do a search, theres a couple of similar posts.

With my mods in sig.(stock bore) Im running with piped 450's.
Cams, carb and dyna work real well together.

The 434 athena kit seems to be very popular. Comes with everything you need (as far as piston/rings/gaskets) including new cyll with bigger water jackets for ~$650. You would still need cams ect...

Woodwardspecialties.com has both hotcams for ~$240. From what I have read web cams are better, but cost a lot more.

How big do you want to go? There are big bores and there are strokers.

I have a Weisco 440 kit and it's inexpensive but not all that much for performance. Yes it raises the compression to 12.5:1 and adds 40cc, but compared to others a low gain.

For the best kit around now, I would go with the athena ^^ 434 kit with a Hammerhead 14:1 Piston. People are getting crazy gains with that kit.

If you want sheer power at any cost, go with Tudors' 500 or 536 stroker!!

JUST HEARD THE OTHER DAY ABOUT THE 434 KIT. i heard thats the only one that you won't need to bore for. i heard it is a good kit. ive been looking at 440-450, but i think i'm going to throw on some boondockers first and go from there.
