Default New here. Have question about LT230E parts.....

Hi everyone. I just picked up a super clean 1988 Suzuki LT230E.............only one problem, it has no motor! The guy I got it from brought the motor to a small shop that went under and never saw it again. He let it site for years before getting rid of it to me. My question is, what motors can I bolt in without to much work other than one from a '88 230E? I've thought of parting it out but for $5 I don't have much into it. Thanks for any help, Mike

I think you can use the 85-88 LT 230S motor which has a kick start and manual clutch. Or any of the LT230E engines. Be careful not to buy an LT230 shaft drive engine however. You can find these on ebay.

You might be able to use an LT250S engine, but they are pretty rare.

I might have found a motor out of a 1987 230E. Thats the same right? The guy says it runs and shifts thru the gears. He's asking $300 delivered. I think that sould pretty fair...........

that seems good make sure it doesn't smoke and get all of the electrical and start it up before paying because you never know if it is all f*cked up you'd loose 300 bucks and how much did you pay for the rolling chasis?
