Mines an 05, anyone know what might cause this? The bike is well maintained. I ride "alot" of wheelies and I have had a small amount of coolant leak from the radiator cap before, could this have anything to do with it. Just noticed it today after I landed from a jump really hard on the front. but really nothing out of the ordinary. The bike runs fine by the way. I am hoping to just have to replace a gasket on somethin easy. Also I tried breifly to pull the water pump off and was unable to. I took all the bolts out but that sucka is on there. Any help would be great, thanks

 

is it the water pump or the filler cap? Becuase my cap would leak, i would top out, and my heatshield would have fluid on it.

 

u mean the cap on the overflow? its not leaking from there. its leaking from the bottom of the water pump, mainly when the bike is running. when i turn it off it stops after a minute or so.

 

After you take all the bolts out there is an O-ring holding it in place.

 

so how do I get it off? thanks

 

I have the same problem. I just keep adding coolent.

 

If you have an '05 or '06, you have a magnesium case cover. THE MAGNESIUM COVERS ARE BAD!! They corrode with normal coolant. Numerous persons have already brought this up on several other sites. CONTACT YOUR DEALER ASAP!!
