I went riding this weekend (Dunbar WI), and a guy passed away after he hit a tree 4:00 in the morning. He was riding by himself ( so I was told). They said he would have lived if he was riding with someone. He was found alive, but after they ran to find help they came back he was gone. So it is always good to ride with someone.....sad story

I am guessing he was since it was 10 degrees out, but I could be wrong...

Just be safe guys. If you're gonna go fast, make sure you go fast out in the open and wear a helmet!!!

I have seen people wreck and get hurt pretty bad. But, keep in mind that you can get hurt pretty bad even when you aren't riding. A local off road park had a Halloween event this last year where a guy got ran over by a truck. Well, the guy was sleeping in his tent and the guy driving the truck was drunk. He drove right over the tent. Luckily, the guy lived, but he was seriously injured.

Be safe, think ahead, and use protection.

btw, I am ordering a cam for my Ozark later this week!!

That is exactly why I had no problem dropping $300 on a nice helmet. I ride with a guy who doesn't wear one (he thinks since he spends most of his time in the mud he isn't risking anything) and I always get on him about it. Some people never learn...

suzukirider - I called Chaparral today and they told me they haven't heard anything from Pro Circuit about the pipe, but hey good news is my tshirt will be shipped the 15th. Oh and since I complained I get free next day shipping when they do arrive, even though I've been waiting almost 3 months. I guess Dennis Kirk will get my business in the future...

Hello All,

Interesting thread on the z250. I have a 04 Ozark that I ride. Love the quad but like everything I own it needs more power and better suspension. What I've done so far is replace the front shocks from a z250, which bolt right in. I have a rear shock from a z250 but have yet to install it.

In the power department I've added a slip on Pro Circuit muffler and purchased a used head from a LT250 4wd. This quad has the same engine (at least the top end) as our Ozark and Z250's. Best part it came factory from Suzuki with 10.1:1 compression. I had the head rebuilt and ported and purchased a forged Wiseco piston. I'm hoping to get the engine done by summertime. Looks like I need to start saving for a cam also

Thanks

Philip

nice with the free shipping irideaz250...also fbergski, looks like you did your research with your ozark, was there a big improvement by putting z250 shocks in? i mean if they bolt right in you shoulda just ordered some elka shocks for z250 and bolted them on your ozark...just a thought...glad you took interest in this topic...

Interesting. How does the quad ride now with the Z250 shocks up front? I take it you are using the Ozark springs with the Z250 shocks, correct?

Are you sure the LT250 head is what gives that motor the 10.0:1 compression, or is it in the piston shape/design that gives it the high compression? And where did you get that head from?

Looks like I might be ordering more things than I expected to order pretty soon!!

91cavgt, if you want shocks for yours i would say just go buy some elka shocks for z250 since they will bolt onto a z250...you can get the rec series shocks for 429 bucks...or if you want z250 shocks buy mine after i get my elkas...lol...
