No I am using the z250 shocks as they are. The ride I feel is smoother with the z250 shocks then the stock Ozark shocks. I haven't changed the spring preload to see the difference. Elka's are too expensive for me. I bought the z250 shocks off ebay for $65.00. The rear I paid $75.00 off ebay.

I'd post photos but my Ozark is in my toyhauler at the moment. When I get it out to do the engine and rear shock I'll snap some photos. I'm not into the bling thing so it will look completely stock.

I believe the head is the same on the LT and Ozark. I don't have my Ozark apart yet to confirm it. The piston appears to have more dome also. The head I bought off ebay for $100.00. I spend $30.00 on new Vesrah valves. The LT head also has a compresson release. I need to fab up a cable from the handlebars to the head so it works properly.

I started at Wiseco's website and checked all Suzuki 4-strokes with the same bore and stroke as the Ozark. Next I did photo search in Yahoo to see the engines.

fbergski i'm surprised you did all that research to get stuff for your ozark instead of just calling a company and telling them to make a product...

Who would make hi perf parts for my Ozark? It wasn't until I did the research did I find I could hop it up with
stock Suzuki parts. I prefer factory hi perf parts over aftermarket in some cases.

Now all I need to do is get rid of the speed limiter. I can hit 45mph easily on a dry lake. I believe 55/60mph is possible with the new head and piston.

I'll keep you guys informed as the project progresses.

what exactly do you mean by high performance parts? z250s and ozarks have the same motor so i'd imagine you could go with the same mods that i am going with...magura hydraulic manual hydraulic clutch conversion kit, pro circuit t-4 pipe and header, web camshaft, and web valve springs, wiseco piston, and dp brakes clutch kit...

When I first bought my Ozark I couldn't find any hi-perf parts. After finding this thread I see there is more available.

The header won't fit on my Ozark, just the slip on muffler which I already have. The clutch conversion is too expensive for my tastes. I would like to replace the clutch springs with a heavy spring if possible. I'll be looking into all the items you mentioned in the future.

The only problem is I bet the Elka shocks are a lot stiffer than the stock Z250 shock, right?

I'm not looking for a stiffer ride. I can't do any jumps really on this thing anyway because of my lift, and big tires, and wheel spacers. It would just be nice to have a smoother, more controlled ride.

I think the Z250 shock upgrade would be a good route to go for me.

i doubt that they'd be any stiffer cuz they are meant to give a better trail ride...they're not necissarily a racing shock...and you call them and tell them your weight, and tell them what you will be using the atv for so they'd specifically set it up for whatever you'd be doing so they would actualy just adjust it to a softer or stiffer ride depending on what you'd be doing with it
