Might be a slight difference in sound... steel is denser = quieter. But I guess it depends on how much steel or aluminum they use.

i'll have new pics up in my album tomorrow, if anyone is interested. i just finished one of the 230s today. its called the Brat. i built it for my brother, fully restored, every nut and bolt.
so no one wants an extended swinger? its a 2 and 3/4in extension. i dont need it. i would even trade it for an 86' swinger.

the aluminum can oxidize and doesn't agree with heat too well

that crazy, i'm taking a break from building mine, im working on a 1983 xl 250r street and trail. trying to get that done before the riding season is over.
