85 to 88 Suzuki LT230S Quadsport help.
Man your a fabrication mad man lol that's good though. Well she fired right up it took three kicks then bang up and going. Still need to tune the carb though, seems like she's flooding at anything over a half throttle unless I ease into it.
Try moving the clip higher on the jet-needle and see if that helps. If you're right about it being rich, it should help.
That was my next step, the adjustments defiantly work on this new carb though, just the slightest turn and you can hear the change in idle. So something must have definitely happened to that old carb. I ran out of gas but hopefully I'll get her tuned out today.
Did you get it tuned?
Hi, Toaster556/500XC here. I build mostly first gen Suzuki DR125s, but I've picked up an 86 Suzuki DR200 to build for more hardcore trail riding, and Im building a big bore motor for it. For those who are unaware and wondering WTF this n00b is doing posting about a dirt bike, the DR200 and LT230 share a piston, with the DR200 having valve reliefs and the 230 having none.
Since no one makes a big bore piston for the DR200 and I want a lighter piston than the boat anchor Wiseco 70mm 230 big bore, Im gathering people for a group buy of custom Venolia 69mm 11:1 pistons at a cost of $115 ea for a bare piston. With Wiseco rings, OE Suzuki pin and circlips, it will be under $190 plus shipping.
Is there any interest here? It would bring a 230 up to 250, and keep compression around 10.5:1 with a 230S or 250S head

So fellow enthusiasts... I have some questions. I have had my 85 Suzuki lt230ge for about 14 years now, and has been sitting apart for about 4 years. I have plans to turbo this thing with a VZ21 with the wastegate set around 10 psi. What I need to know is how strong the Vesrah rods are compared to stock rods? What kind of wattage is the alternator rated for? And for the last question, is there anywhere selling cylinders with matching pistons? Thanks in advance.
I'm hoping someone can help, I can't decide what tooth number sprocket I want. I really like how the 13/39 sounds, but how does it perform for moderate to some tricker hillclimbs and moderate trail riding? I was also thinking maybe 12/39 or 12/42 maybe 12/40. I understand what the ratios do, just asking how they perform though knowledge of trying it out before I spend money, it's tight right now.
