As far as I can tell the pegs are stock. I just cut the "loop" off the top so I could get to the reverse lever easier. Mine had a different shifter when I got it, so I can't tell what its from. It works well enough though. Its a shorter "throw" between gears and I can shift faster than a stock shifter.
An update on the 250: Wiseco doesn't make a piston for it, so we have to go with a factory piston. Also, the bore was so worn, it was within .001 of being 20 over already, lol. So, we have to go 40 over. I knew that thing had no compression! It was a wonder of physics how it even ran... Nevermind how it ran so good.
Oh well,,, looks like I have some sanding to do:

Hey guys havent been around here much lately, just poppin in to say hi. I got myself a 250...RM250 that is. I used to think the ol' 230 was quick, but damn this bike has retarded amounts of power. The 230 is still doing great, just had her out...I'm trying not to pick favorites lol!
She's an '89. Guy was asking $800 but she wouldnt start when I went to look at it. So I brought it home for $500. Turns out one of the gaskets was bad so i just did both. Now after some parts I'm into this for $600. I still think I got a kickass deal.
When you are bored waiting for parts polishing an engine can be fun

Oh yeah, bikes are quick! Just about any bike will outrun a quad, but a 2-stroke 250 bike.... That's FAST!
Btw, I think my buddy used to race that exact bike. If not that one then the 1990 one. He said the only quad that could keep up with him was the zilla. And even then the guy riding the zilla was GOOD!

Yeah I'll be the first one to admit the first couple times I had her out in the local trails, I was down right scared of this thing(partly cause the trails are real tight and dont have room between the trees for mistakes). Now that I'm learning the querks of the bike I feel alot more comfortable on it. I cant wait till my riding skills catch up with what this bike can do

All i really need to complete my body armor set is a decent chest protector, ive got the helmet and boots. I'm used to the power band on my friends kx 80, but the RM just hits so hard. I tend to forget that bangin it into 3rd will pull the front right off the ground. atleast im smart enough to know this bike exceeds my limits...for now anyway . ill try to get a video up soon

Now imagine 3 of those engines bolted together at the crank running you down the street. That would be a 750 triple made in the early 70's. A buddy of mine in OH had one. Another bud raced him on a GSXR 1100 and was leaning down giving it everything it had. The 750 rider was upright and just casually shifting the gears leaving the 1100 in the dust. The word is they quit making them because the power band kicked in on the highway wheeling people off the back. Too much power for 70's technology and suspension.
