Location is exactly why i cant get the nice wheelers i like lol. around here, everybody is holing on to their fourwheeler or they dont have ebay to post them on. when i search for local listings of ANY quad on ebay or the franklin shopper (local paper), there arent any interesting deals for atleast 70miles away.

Got a Webcam with the 213 grind with beefier valve springs at their recomedation. Head is getting polish and port, valve grind etc.Have my Mukuni 32mm, making a new intake is no problem (almost done, actually gonna tie into stock but modified air box) But does anyone know where I can get an intake boot (the rubber part that screws to the cylinder, and the carb clamps to) that will be able to hold my larger than stock carb? I think stock was 26mm and I am unable to stretch the 32mm into its place. Any help would be much appreciated.

The 34mm and 28mm Mikuni have the same bolt pattern ( center to center). You might get the info you need at the above link. The 32mm has a larger bore on the output side? Weird.
Good luck......

Once again you are my hero! Who da thunk that I could of bought the boot from the same place I bought my carb????? Duh!!! I feel stupid. Yes, it is bigger, looks as big as that damn engine!!! bolts are the same but where the carb clamps on is to small. tried boiling it, wifes hair dryer, just off enough to drive me nuts. Well you "Bama" boys might remember the Coke bottles from late '70's "winningest coach" with the pic of the "Bear"? I happen to have an un-opened 6 pack. Just cause I live in Cali now, does not mean I don't have REAL kin down south!!! Roll Tide, Roll!!!

I got an 86 230s about 6 years ago and it threw the chain a couple years ago, cracked the case, and hes been sitting since. I rebuilt the top end stock when I got it. As far as I know everything else is stock. I decided to get it running again and now my little brother bought a 97 300ex that's bored with a pipe, uni filter, holes in air box, alloy wheels, nerfs, bumper, and 6 pack rack. Anyway, I want to make mine outrun his. Top speed doesn't matter much just so I can outrun him on trails. So what do I need to do? I really don't want to do a bigger bore now because the engine is good but I was thinking about a larger carb, stage 2 cam, and some sort of pipe. Then gear it a little lower, I assume it is geared stock now. Has anybody tried using a 250 jug and .080 over piston or such on a 230? I read that the bore was the difference between the 230 and 250. If it would work it should bring the displacement a little over 260.
I'd also be interested in suspension ungrades. I'll probably find a 250 axle to widen the rear. I guess wheel spacers are fine for the front? Are there A arms off any other quad that will widen the front? If I lengthen the rear swing arm in front of the shock mount, is there a shock off some other quad that will work?
