So PG, whats the current state of your 230? Got any pics? The ones in your gallery aren't quite complete.</end quote></div>
Flintstone powered dust collector is the best way I can describe it!
I never took pix of the 4 or 5 times I actually "finished" the 230.
Seems I always messed the dang thing up is someway or another before a pic could be taken.
I am so OCD, ADD, ADDHD and many other things that I may never finish the damn thing!
Don't get me wrong, my passion fo this lil bike is HUGE!
But I almost get more pleasure, hearing all you folks go thru the journey..........

I wish we knew more about his wheeler. He got it at a swap meet for a mid 90s polaris snowmobile. Second gear is busted and the front end was goofy but the rest runs great.
The guy had those extensions on the front a-arms that just move the stock a-arms out and he threw some cheesy little Northern tool go-kart shocks on there. When he first got it, the tiny shocks weren't nearly long enough so his a-arms were angled upward! It was pretty squirelly to drive needless to say. But if you ask me, it was a sweet deal.
Check out the lower shock mount lifters we made out of scraps in his garage.
</end quote></div>
Just need a mojave and you'll have the whole set! Reminds me of 1987 sitting in class reading Dirt Wheels magazines... I always liked the look of the 250x plastic.
I almost bought an X last fall. But I decided it would be silly to have 2 sports and I'd rather have the money. It was in perfect condition.... Like somebody bought it and stored it for 20 yrs. Oh well....
A-arms angled upward... LOL That's funny! I'd be ashamed to leave the house like that. Good work getting it rideable with the scraps though! It almost looks to me that somebody had nice shocks on it at one time and kept them when they sold it. To bad about 2nd gear or I'd say build the engine and have a really fun quad.
250X
87-88: 351lbs. All others 362lbs (the 230 is around 315-330)
74x57.3mm bore n stroke... 246.33cc (stock for the 230 is 66x67mm or 229.16cc... The 250S is 68.5x67mm or 246.96cc)
76mm max wiseco 12:1 piston would make it a 259.93cc (the 230's max bore is 68mm at 10.25:1 or 243.49cc... 258 and 265 with the big bore kit. The 250S could go to 270 or so).
126.5mm rod with 17mm bore. (the 230 has a 115.5 and 16mm)
Two 25.5mm intake valves. Two 22.5 exhaust valves. Single cam.
Cam at .040 is 228/228 with about .300 lift.
Gears:
1st 3.00
2nd 2.53
3rd 1.86
4th 1.46
5th 1.18

THat would be cool! I've thought about something like that on my little track I have set up in a field and thru the woods... But I don't know the first thing about video or posting/hosting video, so it will be a while for me.

Off track as I usually am, found a post by our boy Randal that made me smile!
The kid is really smart if you haven't figured it out yet![img][/img]
the fastest sport atv ever built" Does that cover trikes as well? Doesn't say stock, just says "the fastest built" and trikes are ATV's. So, this one looks pretty fast: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/FastestTrike.shtml I guess its a sport....
I don't see why the Tiger 500 wouldn't out run a zilla.... http://www.3wheelerworld.com/tiger500.shtml
Banshee isn't all that... Good for throwing dirt is about all I see here: http://www.3wheelerworldforums...remote/Ronniesmall.wmv
Here's a list of some other Banshee-killers in action: http://www.3wheelerworld.com/videos.shtml
There used to be a video of a DS650 with turbo blowing away banshees like they were sitting still. He'd give em a good 100-200 ft head start and beat them by at least as much. But the link doesn't work anymore. http://videos.streetfire.net/v...ith-turbo-kit_7663.htm

Can I update that list with the ThunderCat? You seen those on youtube yet? One guy videos his speedo... He gets to 75 mph in a couple seconds! I hear they have 1400cc kits for them and turbos too.

Man, I was thinking last night and realized that you guys in the south don't really have a need for roll-out docks! We have to pull our docks out at the end of each summer, otherwise they'll get crushed and bent during winter and come spring, it will get pulled out into the lake and sink.</end quote></div>
Not many of us in the south have lakes either.
I used to live in OH next to Lake Erie and still didn't know about roll-out docks.
I am building a pond though, so maybe that's a good thing to know.... It does get to 8 degrees a couple times inbetween the usual 50-60.
