That's above my skill level,I'll try and get a stock one I guess. Parts in mind,rims...i had hoped id get lucky when i bought it and it wouldn't need much, sounded great in the ad, but the guy i bought it from boned me bad and Im startin to think im in over my head.He had 90w gear oil in it to keep it from smokin when i picked it up,got it home and changed the oil and now it smokes like a **** which im assuming is the rings and or valves.? Had the throttle freeze the first nite i had it home, couple days later the float stuck and filled my airbox half full. Cleaned it up,had a good ride, parked it for a week.Today I killed the battery tryin to get it to idle....

Looks great man! I would measure them for you but I'm down at school.
Do you have a widened front end? It looks like your wheels are sticking out a ways.</end quote></div>

I was just curious because Randy says he really didn't like how it rode with the wheels flipped. And yeah, the 230s don't make the smallest turning circles.</end quote></div>
I rode with em flipped once,, Man, you can have it! It was like driving a one ton 4x4 truck off road with out power steering!
I don't want to work that hard while "havin fun"

Ok UG,,, I lost the piece of paper, but here's what I told you in Jan:
"Ok, I dug out the piece of paper me and my half-drunk buddy sribbled all the measurements on that day. The original idea was to find a piece of thick enough tube and machine it down from there, but my buddy brought back a finished product that was little different than the stock swingarm tube! So, I dug out that ford axle and told him to hack that up and make a tube out of it. He said the lathe was throwing sparks.
My piece of paper says 8.063 long. The ID of the holes where the bearings go is 1.144. The bearing holes go 0.824 deep. I don't know the inner diameter of the rest of the tube, but these numbers are written over to the side. .868 OD and .588 ID. I think that is the measurement of the inner bearing race. If so, that means the ID of the tube should be a little bigger than .868.
You should verify those measurements. The idea is that both inner bearing races plus the spacer tube will be bolted tight to the frame. So, since we want the swingarm to ride on those with a wee bit of slack side-to-side in the frame, you'll have to add the swingarm tube length and all the shims and seals and have the total to be a wee bit less than the total of both bearing races and spacer tube. A wee bit = .001-.002 or so I guess. You can always add shims if you need to later on.
Any decent machinist should be able to help you out if you tell him what its for. I sent all the bearings and parts with him to be sure. It came back perfect. I consider that a miracle really.
I have no idea where to get the seals. The part number is on one of my pics I posted here. A long time ago I ordered some swingarm bearings on ebay. I got the bearings, but no seals. So I emailed the guy and he quickly sent me seals. Those seals you see in the pic are those seals. When I got them, I just threw them on the shelf and figured the ebay guy was an idiot because they didn't look like the seals I got with my pivot works bearing kit. Well, it turned out the seals would work afterall on my new tube, but the pivot works ones were too small (tube was too big really). Irony, gotta love it. "</end quote></div>
Thanks Randy, but now I am confused. SOme of my measurements are REAL close and others are not.
I have over all length = 8.113"
ID at bearing as = 1.145"
depth at bearing = .945"
ID at inner spacer = 1.045"
Thoughts?

I love night riding; there's just something about flying through the woods in the dark. Plus, I feel safer going fast through trails in the dark because I can see headlights coming easier. We must have had different metal cages.....mine was not too hot looking. lol
What would you want dual lights for? I've still got to figure out what how I want to attach my removable light. I'm thinking wing nuts.
Until I figure it out though, I'll be using my headlight:

Me n you have tastes like me n my 250s friend. Not a bad thing, just that we like different stuff. I like mustard on my hotdogs, he can't stand mustard but has to have ketchup on a dog.... I'd never dream of bringing ketchup to a cookout unless there's going to be hamburgers. He likes tartar sauce... I can't stand the vile fluid. I like seaford cocktail sauce (horseradish n ketchup) instead. He can eat a plain baked potato, I'd just assume eat a piece of cardboard. His idea of a truck is a car with a bed of it. I wouldn't own a truck unless it 4x4 with big tires. We just like different things.... Sometimes the same, but a lot of the time opposite things. We've been friends for 20 something years!
I'd want dual lights because my bayou has that and so does my friend's king quad. The light on the frame lights up the trail where the quad is heading, but the handlebar light moves side to side where I'm thinking of going. Having them both lights up everything.
The biggest reason I don't ride at night is the neighbors call the police on me. I don't blame them either... That cold, dense air really carries the sound and having no background traffic noise really makes me out to be the neighborhood pain in the ***.
The cage I'm talking about is #2 in this pic http://www.alpha-sports.com/satv/1986/LT230S/25.htm I didn't know #10 was an option. I'm going to have fabricate one of those since its no longer available. [img][/img]</end quote></div>
I tried to put #2 on my quad, but my glas light would not fit in the bracket and on the quad. hard to believe, but I tried it. I also think it would look Badas$. I did not know about #10.
