Hey guys, what is the exhaust mid pipe gasket supposed to look like? Mine is just an extremely thin piece of steel, and it doesn't seem to tighten up well. Do you really have to reaf (spelling) on the clamp? I got mine as tight as I thought was reasonable but it still seems to rattle.

Mine never tightened all the way either, but I didn't have the gasket. I tried making one similar to what you described... It worked ok, still leaked though. When I got the new pipe, it came with a better way of connecting.

Yeah, I had looked at the schematics but kinda hard to tell. Guess I'll come up with something.

the bolt that goes from the enigne to mid pipe</end quote></div>
Shouldn't be too hard. Just drill a hole in the center and use an EZ-out. Put the head in the oven right before you use the EZ-out.
Use a sharp center punch and start with a small drill bit (1/16 maybe) and don't break the bit off in the screw! You'll never drill thru another drill bit. Start with a small bit so you can favor one side or the other as you go up in bit sizes to keep the hole in the center. If you start with the biggest bit, the bit will "walk" off the center and your hole will be crooked and funnel shaped.
Also, before you drill, hit it pretty hard with a punch. A few good raps will break a lot of those oxidized bonds in the threads. Once you have the hole right, and a good EZ-out, and its warmed in the oven, it should come out easy. Piece of cake.
