Sometimes the valve on the gas cap doesn't work and the vacuum in the gas tank will prevent gas from going to the carb, but in this case the needle was cemented in the seat with some "salt" kinda stuff. Could be aluminum oxide or some salt that comes from gas. I don't know too much about chemistry, but its white crusty stuff. His carb was pretty dirty, but I just cleaned the jets the week before. I didn't even look at the seat. Never seen anything like that before, so why would I look? Usually only look at the seat when the carb is always draining gas on the garage floor unless the gas is shut off at the tank.

Nice! You'll have to post up some pics for the album once you get it all together!
If I remember right, I think the lever clamps use a fine threaded M6 bolt.
That's sweet with the tires, were they all used or new ones?</end quote></div>
they were all used but still good enough to use for what im doing... just riding around fields and light trails.
i tried to put some pics up on "my page" but it wouldn't let me right now

you could use www.tinypic.com and upload them to the page. Just upload the pic, and copy and paste the IMG code for forums into your reply.

Since a few of us are engineers, I thought you guys might enjoy this:
New Michelin Tire Design
Pretty freaky looking, but it makes a lot of sense!
I wonder how much they weigh. Can you imagine how plugged they would get with mud on a four wheeler?? They don't seem like they'd be ideal for ATVs.

Looks cool! But then again, I didn't see them doing anything in the video that my 250 won't do. [img][/img]
You like the 400 more than the zilla?</end quote></div>
Zilla scares me! Quite honestly the whole fuel injection thing is what lifts my skirt.
With the elevation changes we deal with on our rides EFI is the cure all.
