Hey Randy, how thick was this case saver you made? Did the plastic cover go over it?
Also, does anyone have the one from Bike Bandit on their wheeler? How is it?

Any other parts you guys can think of that I should look at if I put an order into bike bandit? So when I do the swing-arm bearings, which parts do I get? And is Bike Bandit the best place to get them?

3 is just a spacer and can be reused with your bolt as long as they are in good shape. You can get a whole kit off eBay for $38. It includes the bearings, spacers, washers, caps, and the dust caps #10. That is the way I was going to go. Rockey Mountain has the same kit for $36, but they were out of stock. The dificulty of the job is in direct relation of how well your existing bearings are to remove.
I was wondering when the big plastic roller is supposed to be replaced, #11 they are only $5 so maybe it should be done at the same time?

I realized, last night that the headlight on the 86 i am taking apart is plastic and the one on my 87 is Glass. They take different bulbs and the bulbs attach to the housing in differetn manners as well. I thought about putting the plastic on the 87 for weight, but the glass one is a better light with a better bulb connection. So many little differences that it boggles my mind.

The stock one is not spring loaded. The spring action on yours was probably giving you most of the resistance. The stock one seems to have a bearing in it, or if I make one I might use a small bearing? I am not saying the roller is better, I am saying I can't see it giving more resistance the the slide. Plus it is already there so why not use it, Suzuki put it on for a reason, and I hate to dismiss somethign until I know what it's original purpose was.
I do have familiarlarity (SP?) with the slides as I put one on my YFZ skid plate for the chain.</end quote></div>
Atvman posted a pic of my old red one. It had a bearing in it too. But the fact that it is round makes it slam into each link and slows the chain down. Long and flat beats even a frictionless bearing (if you could find one).
Utilities have no real concern with friction or drag as far as the chain is concerned. Sports, they want to milk every bit of power out, so maybe that explains why the S didn't have them.

Its about 3/16. You might have to use longer bolts, but the plastic thingy goes back on fine.
The oem one from bikebandit works just as well, but its made for a 12T sprocket. And its probably a little thinner than 3/16. I think I'm running the oem one with my 11T sprocket right now.

cheapcycleparts have the cheapest prices, but they rape you on the shipping... Plus make you be home to sign for it.
That place you was dealing with should have oem parts too. I forgot the name.
I don't know what parts you need, but it doesn't matter... You'll think of more stuff to buy later.
Brakes, chains, sparkplugs, bearings, jets... Always some stuff to throw in the buggy to get the deal on shipping, lol.
