I bought my 85 suzuki quad sport 1 year ago and it was hard to kick when i first got it. Then my gfs friend rode it and blew a value off until it put a hole in the piston. So i recently rebuild it with a new std size piston and rings. I made sure the timing was lined up on the cam and on the block and it went easyer then i thought plus my friend whos worked on quads helped. i broke it in up north for 3 days. Now it doesnt want to kick over unless i full choke and full throttle it after like 10 plus kicks. i can smell gas it has compression the spark plugs new air filtes alil dirty. anyone have any ideas? plz help thanks

there not hard to tune, if you buy a rebuild make sure you use the bigger jets if yours already had them, if you have any tuning questions feel free to ask

ive never tuned a carb before. ive just takem apart and note usually howmany turns it took to take stuff. i just dont know how i should go about doing it. Like when i get it runing and turn the idle up pretty high it will still die unless i rev it. Then i have to full throttle it for start up i dont understand how it ran perfect before?

I need some help if you don't mind. I have a quadsport lt230s from 1987. I have a couple problems, the first thing is that after I start it, and if I shut if off, I can't restart it. I think the motor, once warm, want let me restart it. Any ideas? Also, when I shift into gear, first, second, or third, or whatever gear, the atv runs really slow. It will move, but it will move extremely slow even at full throttle. At full throttle, it just revs and moves maybe 10 mph. Also, if I let go of the clutch, it stalls out. Could both of these be a clutch issue? Also, does anyone have a takeapart guide for the clutch and the engine? Top and bottom end? Thanks so much!

I did a whole write-up on the stock 230 carb, including re-build and tuning instructions. atvman has it up in the vault. Check it out and let us know if you still have any problems.
