I know how you feel. That's why I want a zilla.... plenty of power and doesn't weigh much.

Trailrider,
Bigger spark can increase power by fuel more completely. The high output stator will increase spark and increase aux lighting capability.

Well,,, I was talking about an efi 700. They actually dont weigh that much for what they are. The 660 is a pain to keep the front wheels on the ground to steer lol

So how much power does it take from the engine to make the extra electrical power for the bigger spark? lol

Does it workout to be a net-positive?

Well, it doesnt take anything to make more electrical power because the engine is only going to draw what it needs to operate. Your just increasing the amount of amps/watts it can output. If you draw more amps/watts, it going to use more energy to create it.

well, lol, i retract my statement. i had no idea that the big raps were that light. i knew a couple guys with them and they towered over my little 230 so i just assumed they were pretty heavy in comparison. they use a lot of aluminum?

Ok, so what's the benefit of having the capacity? Other than aux lighting? And if you do use the extra capacity somehow (ie by making the spark bigger... somehow), would the extra power spent making the spark bigger yield enough extra power to cover the power spent and then some to be felt at the wheels? How's that for a run-on sentence lol. In other words... is it worth it?

yamaha says 422lbs wet 2011 Yamaha Raptor 700R Specifications, specs

I'd say that's about right.

The 350 raptor is 396lbs wet. 2011 Yamaha Raptor 350 Specifications, specs

So its 350 extra cc's for 26 extra lbs. Yeah, the 700 is light lol
