Default 40mm FCR install advice...

Hi,
Just got a carb from a 04' crf450 off ebay and need a couple questions answered, wont be installing it till my motor is done. Will the stock throttle cable work or will I need to get a different one. If so which one? I want to keep my stock throttle body assembly on the handerbars so can I keep that and just use a diff cable? Lastly will the choke cable work with it or will I need a different one? I dont want to change up the handerbar choke. Is the choke strictly on the carb and I can not utilize the handerbar one. If I need a choke cable which one do I get? Thanks in advance for the help.

Yeah, your going to have to buy a honda cable. Or i think you can modifie the one you have. Here if you go to this web site much of your question can be answered. Z400 no space connection. com .. I had to put the no space becuse on this forum you can have those to words together. Go to it and click forum and then click on z400 performance and will see about the throttle cable and what you can do.

Thanks that helps a lot. Did you slide your choke off the handlebars, cut it off or leave it on? Im most likely sending my motor out within the next 2weeks for some of the work then Im installing the rest myself. They need my crank, crank counterbalance and cyclinder then send rest of parts to me after. Comes with cams and highrev cdi too, not sure if its gonna be 11k Carb I got is off a 04' CRF450. Do you have the stock boot that goes from carb to head or a diff one? Also what jets are you running? After all that I plan on grabbing longtravel suspension etc. Will keep ya posted Lastly, what exactly does the proflow adapter do? does it eliminate airbox or what?

alright pay attetiion here: You dont need to pull the choke lever off i left it on becuase it helps keep dust out of that area, You want to get the honda intake boot that goes from the box to the Carb, Then you want to get the intake boot that goes from the engine to the carb from a Z-450 dirt bike. The jetting is 165-170 main jet, 45 pilot, 3 clip on the needle. Good Luck

Great, thanks man. Ill let you know when I send my motor out and get it back and start having problems haha. Hey murdr do you own yfz 450's and 450r's as bad as in this video http://www.dunereview.com/videos/Yos...HRC%20450r.wmv Thanks.
btw what year intake boot will work and are you running the rmz450 carb to head boot or what? So you capped a hole on the carb with the choke cable? What did you do about your throttle cable did you get the 450r and trim in and re-tap housing or do you got a 400ex throttle assembly?
