I just put my pipe and jet kit in and its not quite right. I put a K&N in also. Well it starts and idles fine but you hold the throttle a .25 the way and it stumbles some. You can open her up and she is pretty smooth but when you let off she pops a few times. Please help me out a little. I may need a bigger size pilot.

My vinson also runs a little rich and has an occasional pop out of the exhaust, but a little rich is ok. Have you tried adjusting the mixture screw?

 

The pop in the exhaust on throttle let off, is a lean idle circuit. Look for air leaks, and if thats ok, turn the mixture screw out 1/4 turn or maybe even more

 

With the mixture screw I cant get it where it needs to be. I am pretty sure I need a bigger pilot.

 

With this kit it says 3 turns out on mixture and 2.5 above 5000 ft. So that means out is richer right? How much father than 3 turns can you go?

 

about 4 turns out is max, if thats not enough, go up one on the pilot jet.
