Depends on the budget, if your looking for for more power start with an exhaust , reed cage, bigger carb, and a better air filter, tune jets on the carb accordingly ectect..Suspension you can get shocks, arms , extended axle, better brakes ectect....It depends on what you are looking for first... power? handling? Let me know ill see if i can help ya out with your questions..Btw i have an 87 too... and a 88 , 91.. later

hey
i have a 92' lt250r and it has some stuff done to it. in my opinion the first things you should do is get a pipe....i got fmf.then you should consider getting a wider backaxle.....this will help with handleing and stability.filters are nice too....uni or whatever.but if you have some money you should definetly boar it out like .50 over.

Its up to you in what direction you want to go..Does it handle as good as you would like and have enough power? The best setup with out going to deep into the pockets imo would be, a pipe which i see you have, some reeds, airfilter, and some nice shocks..This would wake the motor up and bring your suspension a little more up to date...

The 87 chassis parts are mostly compatable with 87-90, the swing arm set up changed on the 91-92 (which handle a little better btw),.The reason you see 87 specific motor parts is because the intake ports are larger on the cylinder, same reed cage as the lt 500.. The bottom end is the same 87-92- im running a 91 bottom with my 87 top (for no particular reason). The 87 engine is much easier to get the power out of(bigger intake) but a little harder to find replacement parts for.I have a 91 top end here and it is identical to the 87, wiesco shows a different part number for the piston but im running a 91 piston right now....Same top end 87 and a 91 not sure if all of them but suzuki used some old stock on the 91's..later
