Hi everyone,
I just finished building my 87 lt230s engine. A friend of mine gave it to me because he blew the engine. I had to rebuild the whole motor. About $300 in parts and my own free labor, I had a brand new engine. I got it running 2 days ago. It's runs great. I ported the head, got it bored 1.25mm over, and put a pipe and jet kit on it. It also has a UNI filter. The thing has some power for it's age and size. The only thing I am stuck on is the chain. It looks like you have to loosen the 2 nut and bolts on the swingarm where is clamps over the axle. Then just pivot the axle inside the housing. But I loosened those bolts and I can't get it to budge. I even left the loose and rode it to see if it would break free. The chain is way too tight, so I don't want to ride it until I figure out how to adjust it.
thanks for any help, I appreciate it
Cory

Well I went to look at again and it's different then that picture. There is two clamp bolts which I already loosened. I saw two holes in the center of the hub that look like a special tool went in to turn the hub. Since I didn't have that tool, I used a pipe wrench and broke it free. Now the chain is adjusted nicely. I appreciate the help though. Maybe my quad isn't an 87? I am not sure.
