One of guys I know that works in parts at my local zuki dealer said that they got a 2nd LTR450 with a burnt clutch back in. The first was a very novice rider... The second was an experienced rider.... Neither had changed out their factory oil..... This could be the whinning problems with the LTR's people are talking about in forums I've seen.

Whats even worse.... neither Barnett or Hinson make a clutch for the LTR yet.... I looked at the microfiche and it looked like there were at least 12 plates in there... (I didn't count each one).....

I havn't had any problems/tranny whinning with my LTR but I changed the oil right after break in..... Anyone else know about this or any other after market clutch plates for the LTR????

hey anyone know of a pipe that hits from 3rd gear on up. The lower gears are fine for me but i cant climb competition hill in 4rth gear so im looking for a pipe that will be able to.

went to the dunes yesterday and lost to PIPED 450r's at the hill. lost by not even one bike repeatedly. lost by a bike or two by a 700r and won once against the same one. 50/50 with stock yfz's i beat its low end while it beat me on top. won some and lost some still. nothing else kept up besides the bikes mentioned. all of them were very close races.

would have beat the honda but one of the guys racing kept cutting me off and ruining the starts for the races. me and a couple of guys would line up and he would rush up to the line and pop the clutch. b@stard kept doing it over and over. half of us would go and half would stay. then he would pull off in front of me.

As far as riding through the dunes it was awsome. I have never ridden a bike so wide. My paddles that i got also have offset rims by accident. so i am well over 50 inches wide. never did adjust the suspension because im still confused as to if i loosen my preload will i bottom out if i jump 7ft to flat ground w/0 a landing ramp.

i weigh 145 and ride VERY choppy terrain. can some1 please help me out.

You must remember the LT is geared for tiny 18 tires on a surface that has no resistance (dirt).. Now when you throw on 20 or 21" paddles you throw the gearing waaay off especially on a 21" tire.. Also your in sand w/ lots of resistance.. No pipe is gonna cure the third gear hill climbs. I ride my bros and it falls on its face in 3rd up the steep stuff, but runs great in the bowls. It geared all wrong even w/ a 13 front sprocket for the big stuff. Still needs lower gearing.. His tranny has whined, but it is now going away.. Soften up the preload collars on the front shocks almost all the way..

Not sure if it was mentioned yet but some have seen issues the same as the 03 Z400 with cracking frames right above the front shock tower....

I just got back from Gorman, first time in the dirt. I have only ridden in Pismo with Paddles. The ltr450 is very loose with the stock 18's in the rear. This quad has more power than you can utilize on hard dirt. Every time I nailed it , the rear end just broke loose, even in third. Does anybody know if I can get 18" paddles for the 450? If I can get a hold of those and drop a tooth on the front sprocket, it might do better in the sand. Still lovn my 450. Just a side note, my Yoshi exhaust has met all my expectations. Very cool and powerful.

Just got my ltr last week. Got two tanks in it. Getting spanked by a 450 honda 06. Hope it gets better after broken in. Ordering the cherry bomb and will take out screen in exhaust. Air box lid removal didnt do anything yet. guess i need to get the cherry bomb in and hope it helps. The Ltr 450 here is running right at 6199 before taxes In Bartlesvile Oklahoma at local honda dealer. Cheapest ive seen anywhere period. Problem is that they sell as quick as they can get them. Any answer on the top speeds?

well if you want to see a huge gain in hp then i would suggest getting the hmf iron man series exhaust...i have it on mine and its amazing...i dont regret getting it one bit and it def. gives the best power that ive personally seen...two of my buddies have one and one has the rs5 exhaust from yosh and it cant beat mine and the other one has the lrd exhaust with the power commander and a K n N air filter and still that one cant beat mine with just the exhaust on it...i love the hmf sound and power delivery from top to bottom...GET this exhaust you will be impressed with the extra boost it gives!!

way to bring up a 2 year old post. haha
Well really the best exhaust out would be the yoshimura thats what i got for mine but, it is very expensive. Yoshi specializes with suzuki so i trust them on making a good exhaust.
I have read a lot of dyno testing and if you just take the baffle out.lid box off, and a cherry bomb that almost gives just as much power as a full exhaust system nd its way cheaper.
