Looking for a new quad. How reliable is the eiger 400 automatic? How fast are they top speed? Do they have decent power, how do they ride? Any info would be great.

I have an 05 eiger, it has 1,000 hard miles on it, and not a single problem, i have rolled it twice and it took it like a champ. not sure of the top speed but i have mine up to 55 all the time. thats fast enough for the trails i ride. It has great throddle responce. and alot of tork. Only complaints whould be front end bottoms out easy. and is some what of an ugly duckling. other than that i love it. best atv for the price hands down.

I was looking at the celebration edition for 5699. Comes with winch, bumper and skid plate. Seems like a really good price for a atv. The cheapest out of all the other brands. Just wanted to know how they hold up against the competition.

Agreed with all the above except I've got 2,000+ miles on mine and have never rolled it. It is kinda ugly though - the '05's and 06's look a little better.

They are the cheapest in there class, and have the largest dimensions, the honda's and yahmaha's in this class look tiny when side by side to the eiger. and if you look at artic cat they have an eiger moter in them shows you how good suzuki can build a moter.

I've got an 05 Eiger auto and although I'm new to this stuff, I love it. Just moved 14 inches of heavy wet snow off a 100' x 30' drive way in about 20 mins. The Eiger didn't even flinch. Its got good speed (although speed isn't what I was looking for), very comfortable ride and starts great in cold weather. Everything and more than I expected! I highly recommend it!

I have an 05 Eiger auto with 900 miles on it. I love it! The only thing that I don't like about it is the back shifting of the automatic. For example, when I hit a hill in High range going about 25 mph, the quad will slow down to about 10-15 mph before the clutch starts to backshift and get the RPM's up a little. By the time that I hit the top of the hill, I am back to about 20 mph. It is weird. Kind of annoying when you are tyring to show up your brother-in-law that is riding the junk atv that you sold him. Don't get me wrong, though. I love my eiger. I would buy another one again. I have ridden an 05 Yamaha Kodaik 450. I really didn't like it at all. Buy the Eiger. I weigh 260, my wife weighs 120, and I carry about 30 pounds of gear. We can get anywhere within reason. I try not to get into a situation where we could roll over.

2MANY,

I'm yet to hear of anyone who is dissatisfied with the Eiger or the Vinson for that matter. Depending on the deals/discounts you can haggle you could get either one for a value price compared to the other models in their class.

I went shopping for the Eiger back in December and wound up buying a vinson for about 800 more. In hindsight I would have been just as happy with the Eiger.

I also chose the 5sp model. Sporty-er feel and no problem with that downshifting issue mentioned above. When finances allow I'm getting an Eiger 5sp for the wife.
