im getting ready to put in a stage 2 hotcams,and a 13.5:1 piston. what size of main jet do you think i'll need??
im going to be running vp-c12 race gas. should i go up 2 on my pilot? i have a 165 main in right now.

 

im running a 168 main in my z with a 450 stroker 13.1-1 piston ported head and custom grind race web-cams. Hope this helps

 

is that a stock carb? what did u go to on your pilot and what is your needle on? thanks.

 

With the stock carb it was a new needle from alba in the middle setting with a 160 main and stock pilot I run a 1mm fcr now with this motor. but with my 440 I ran the stock and had what I said now its a 168. I dont know the altitude you are at but it should be close to that for base settings.

 

Hey let us know how your 400 runs after you put the piston and hotcams. and the difficulty if you are installing yourself.

 

The hotcams make more of the difference then the piston. but its nice to do them together. Its worth the investment to do the cams and piston makes a good difference. I would add an ignition at the same time so when the cams start to pull your not stopping that by the rev limiter.
