Default REPLACING STATOR LT250r need HELP

Ok I got the LT250r stator cover off. How do I keep the stator cover from spinning when I try to loosen the retaining nut? I don't want to wreck stuff trying to invent my own way. Im sure there is an eay way to do it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the tip. I figured out it was the flywheel just after I posted.

Pull the sparkplug. Get a soft piece of nylon rope about 1.5ft long, stuff half of it in the sparkplug hole. The rope will stop the piston and you can loosen the nut. You will need a puller to remove the flywheel. It threads into the flywheel with lefthand threads.
