I am installing a Ramsey 3000 on my kingquad and was hoping someone had some info on where they installed the solenoid. Under the seat would be ideal but it looks as if the cables that came with the winch are not long enough. Also the holes under the seat do not match up with the mounting plate for the solenoid. Has anyone mounted the solenoid anywhere besides under the seat? Also where did you place the antenna for the wireless? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. under the seat on the right side; there are four rubber plugs. on my venom winch, the selenoid fit the holes where the plugs are. i thought all the selenoids were the same as far as the mounting holes go. part two: also on the right side of the bike next to the battery is a whole that leads to a plastic sheath for running winch wires. on some winches, if you try to rout the wires elseware, they will be too short. with my venom, i actually hade cable left over and had to shorten them. i hope this info helped.

 

i've got two ramsey 3000's on my KQ and I mounted both solenoids under the seat, right where the tool bag used to be, works awsome. i've got a pic on my page and can take more if you need any. I have the antenna for the wireless remote up into the head light pod, highest point on the quad. Ryan.

 

ryan thanks for the help. did you cut the cable going to the solenoid to length or wrap the extra cable around the frame under the plastic?

 

I cut them all nice to length, and the soldered new lugs on the ends for a nice finish and a strong connection. works real good. thanks, ryan.
