whats the biggest kit they make for the z???? i know mucky runs a 470 tudors, how much bigger can they go or do go??

 

the largest bore you can go that I've heard of on a Z motor was the 470... but.... if you add a +3mil stroke that may take it up to a 490 something, I think...I know 450's can get up to a 502.. my buddy has that on his TRX... My motor builder said that a stroker crank wouldn't do much to help a 426+ head though... something to do about the lighter weight of the crank on a stroker being counter productive or something.... he likes to rattle on at times and I was looking for the bottle of pepsi at that point because I had just filled my glass half full with jim beam.... my priorities were somewhere else during that conversation....oopppss... I'll be sure to ask him when they get back next week though... now you got me wondering....

He's in Vegas this week as trackside support for some Polini mini bike championships... that's why I'm now in a rush to get an FCR carb so when he gets back we can put the heart back into my Z.

 

tudors performance make a 536 stroker kit for the Z400 and it is pricy. I was told if you have that kit you "WILL" rebuild every year
and they swear its a monster

i wonder how thin those cylinder walls are??? how bad is that 470 mucky?????? dont suger coat it either!!!!

 

I really dont know how much HP it has I havent had it dynoed yet, just got back from the last dune trip of the season and it was great.
except I blew my rear shock on friday so I rode the sand rail for 2 days, it really sucked, the wind blew all day friday and when it wasnt
we rode, so saturday was a perfect day to ride because the dunes had no tracks in it from the wind and I couldnt ride my quad.
the quad is quick had it up to 82mph and 44hp when i had my 440 kit and this 470 has way more power than the 440 and I run the dunes in 4th gear most of the time. I have it geared low so top speed right now is around 55/60, love the torque it has
just now i have to fix the rear shock before I get it dynoed
