Default z400 timing chain adjustment

I just bought a 03 z400 and I would like to see how to check/adjust the timing chain on it. And is there anything special you have to do to change the coolant in it.

Thanks

It's automatic...you shouldn't have to mess with it. With that said, I know on my Mojave (DOHC) the chain should only have 4mm of play between the intake and exhuast sprockets.

Default z400 timing chain adjustment

I've seen some posts about checking the number of clicks on the adjuster anyone have a explaination of how to do this. It just seems a little loud at low rpm but I'm not completly sure all I've ever ridden are hondas.

Thanks

with an 03 its probably due for a timing chain if the quad was rode a lot. stock chains do tend to stretch
and changing the coolant is easy. just remove the bottom radiator hose from the motor and let it drain
then flush with clean water and then reinstall the hose and fill with new coolant
