Default Gonna build a Super Quad

Ok after seeing this eaby auction ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1 ) I have decided to go a different direction with my LT 500 project I want to convert a 250R chassis or some other high performance bike to a lt500 motor. Who can do these conversions? I am gonna start forming a list of what I need. I would buy thi9s one but its in Kentucky and I am in oregon and the shipping will kill me. Heres what I have so far.

87 or 89 LT500 motor in at least ok condition
Rolling 250R chassis in any condition ( Unless I can cram the motor in a YFZ450 frame)
Custom Exhaust
And someone preferably on the west coast to do the custom work

If you know of anything else I will need or where I can get good deals on this stuff post up or pm me. Thnx for looking I apreciate any info or advice you guys can give me.

Running LT500 motors that have all the design flaws corrected are worth a small fortune these days... I'd be willing to bet you could ship that one for ~$600, but I think his price is pretty steep. Especially for a trinity motor.

Good luck,

Ever think about using a streetbike engine? A 600cc 4-stroke with some tall gearing (sprocketry) would make for a heck of a sport quad... saw a website a while ago where a fella put a CBR600 engine in one. He even had some videos of it and it was VERY FAST. A 900cc or 1L engine would be nuts in a sport quad.

Hmmm... looks like i have another project on the "to do" list, LOL.

I would gladly do that if I could find someone to convert it.

I'll see if I can find that page for you, the owner/builder talked about the modifications he made to the frame and all to get it to work (it was a lot of work, but it fit in there nicely and almost looked factory installed). One video he had was with the camera on the side of the road while he did a WOT fly-by. The pickup that thing had was unbelievable... couldn't keep the front wheels down anywhere under 40mph. Not to mention is was wierd/cool hearing that screaming exhaust coming from a quad.
