Default Questions on my LT230 project

I am on the home stretch of this rebuild just getting all built back up, but i have a few questions on what I still have to do, The quad is a 1985 LT 230s,
1) I removed the stock airbox, ect.. and I see that there was a small 1/2" or so rubber tube coming out at the top corner of the air box, this line goes and splices into another line, jsut want to know what this hose is for i would assume it is jsut for a pressure relieve type application but any help on this would be good.
2) Also i have to replace the bushings for the a-arms, and was wondering waht people are doing for this are most people buying the after market bushing sets, or has anyone found any other options for this.
3) Another thing i wanted to check on was waht the use of those "metal discs" they are mounted right after the front brake rotors, are they of any use. It seams like they keep alot of dirt and crap traped in that area so i was wondering if anyone has taken them off or would know why or why not to keep these things on.

Thanks again for all your guys help so far, this project is coming along wicked.
So far it is:
1985 LT230 frame(painted frame)
-Freshly re-built motor(bored over)
-Cleaned and re-jet carb
-Uni Pod filter mounted to the carb
-DG pipe
-motion pro twist grip
-13-39 gears,
-Custom made nerf bars(almost done)
-New bars
-New, fuel line, spark plug, cables, bearings ect..
Waiting for my maier plastics and ITP wheels to come in
Thinking about sectioning the rear swingarm and add 4"(not sure yet?)

1) Not sure of what your referring too. The only tubes mine have come from the bottom of the airbox.

2) As for the bushings try here, he's the best !

3) If you notice they are slotted to help channel air in, to keep the rotors and brakes cool. They also help cut down on mud caking up in the brakes. I took mine off. When I got mine the ones on it were all rusted and broken in some areas so I didn't waste the time or money looking for replacments. My 230 rolls just fine without em'.

Default Questions on my LT230 project

ALso what shocks are guys using, i don;t feel like forking out the big bucks for the works ones you guys talk about, but are there any stock shocks from otehr quads that will almost bolt right up, i heard a few people talk about the 300x shock mounting almost directly on. Any input is always a help
Cheers
