i just put my bike back together and went for a ride got in 5th and the tryed to shift down and it will not go down any one know why

 

Did try shifting in all gears before you put the engine back on? What all did u take apart? It sounds like to me you didnt put the gear shift cam back together correctly. There is two tabs that have to be put in a certain way, and are spring loaded.

 

i toke the hole thing apart and i think it was the sping on the shifterwas not set proper i toke the cluch cover off and set the spring then when i went to start it it clunked and fixed itself now i cant get the kick starter spring back.

 

Uh oh. Might be time to find a good bike shop.

Well thats good. So what was wrong with it? I wasn't trying to be mean by saying take it to a shop I was just saying thats what I would do if I couldn't figure out what was wrong.

 

i think it was that the shifter was not in place behide the cluch the litlle forks.but it goes good now but i think that its not really hitting power band what is the air screw to be set do you know it was turned out like 3 1/2 turns.
