King Quad Springs
#1
I have been told that the Highlifter springs for the King Quad 700 are the same as the Brute Force 750. Does anyone know if this is true? Their web site shows two different springs that will fit the King Quad.

They should be the same however, there are reports of a change in the diameter of the King Quad rear shocks sometime in 2006. The guys that got them that had very late model 2006 machines had to modify the rears a bit. There is a thread over on Nyroc about the issue.
That new Highlifter store stinks. I can never find anything easily. You used to just pick what you wanted from a simple list. Now it is hard to find anything. That coupled with the stupid brown background. I hate that place now.

Thanks. I agree that Highlifter is not a user friendly site.
I rode 30 miles today and once again I came away loving the King Quad in general. However, I hate the tipsy, too light steering. This machine as stock is outright dangerous riding with any speed. Its like a seesaw, it rocks so much front to back and wants to throw you over the handle bars if you enter a turn with speed. I weigh 215 lbs. and I can't live with it like it is. I almost wish I had bought another SRA.
I have been told that the Highlifter springs along with 1 - 1 1/2 inch wheel spacers will solve the problem.
I have also been told that the springs alone will not do it. The guy at Elka told me I needed shocks and springs. I'm just trying to get this thing right without spending a small fortune. If I can't it will leave here and I will get another Prairie.

You will still see the dive when you apply the brakes but the springs will certainly tighten it up. I feel my KQ is predictable at this point and I am confident in any terrain. I feel the springs are worth the money. Just my $.02.
