lol yes i know, its 20 years old. But do you think that this beast couold withstand some jumps? im thinkin around 5 feet or so, nothing too extreme. can it take the beating? or are there specific parts on the quad that are known to break easily.

well if you still have the original shocks, i wouldn't be jumping it to high. you'll be bound to break something. but if you had a set of high end elkas shocks, then go for it!!

I too have an 86 lt230s and i jump all the time although 8 ft high is the most ive gotten, if it was really that much. My dad bought it new in august of 85 and we had the engine rebuilt basically stock with a little bit bigger piston after the shop cleaned the cylinder walls. And yes right now we run the stock shocks, but we're hoping to get some new ones hopefully just newer suzuki stock shocks. You might bottom out a bit but I'd say go on and jump it.

yep its all stock right now. but we're regearing it soon to make it run about 65 with 22 inch tires on it and about 55 to 60 with our 18 inch flattracks. The final straw with the engine itself was in about 2002 or 03 when the flattracks being shorter caused us to overrev the motor and then it wouldnt run right at all. I think going to 3.00 gear ratio will put us right around that mark, hopefully.

The stock shocks (if there still in great shape) were pretty darn good for stock. The weak part on the LT230 was the swingarm BAD DESIGN!!

Well if my swingarm breaks, ill have a spare lol. the only thing that ever broke was my steering stem. its scary because it happened when it was being lifted into the shed. good thing it didnt happen when i was riding! lol
