dirt wheels said both the YFZ and TRX have more power and will outrun it in a drag and on top end. and i also keep an eye on the suzuki fourm and one guy said it was weaker than the TRX untill he took out the pea shooter air lid etc.

For $40.00 you can add a cherry bomb, remove the airbox lid and the exhaust baffle, and the LTR will take the other 2 current 450's stock, and be just as fast as many piped 450's. Your thinking about a new quad after riding that Honda, aren't you!

i raced an early model 450R, and he beat me no problem. On the track and in the woods I could keep up, but once in the open he dropped the hammer and would pull away. It's not like I was standing still, and the YFZ we were racing with pulled away from the 450R about as much as the 450R was pulling away from me.

Of course the new 450R is a beast and will pretty much pull away from anything out there.

I own both the Z and the TRX, and it's no contest!

I do prefer the Z's powerband however in tighter situations. And if it is really tight and technical, I prefer the 400EX!

That's odd because I have an 03 ltz 400 with a slip on big gun a k an n and I beat my buddie on a stock trx 450 5 out of 6 times but every time it was by like a quad length

I certainly hope the motorcross based CRF450 motor would beat the DR400 enduro based motorcycle motor. The trx450 will need a rebuild much sooner though.

Suzuki,s motocross based ATV is the 450R which has the RM450 motorcross motor if you want to make a fair comparison.

The z400 is suppose to be compared to the 400EX not the TRX450.
