Ok so I did some work on the Eiger. It is definately the fuse for the ignition system.

Using a tester, there is a dead short somewhere between the fuse and I am guessing the Ignition module or coil.

Anyone have any suggestions?

If I put the fuse in it immediately pops like a flash bulb so trying to use a tester is difficult since there is no current flowing.

Have you isnstalled anything electrical to the quad that could be grounding out, the reason that I ask is that I had the same problem with some extra light I put on. The factory wiring harness that the fuse is on has the ingintion, horn and back up light all on the same line, when I would run the lights too long the fuse would over heat and blow. So if you spliced into that line and some thing is grounding out is my be popping it. Just my $.02

My Nephew's Eiger did the same thing. His is an 04 though, If you take the black plastic off the left side ( where the gas valve is ) and look hard too the right there is what I think! a rectifier with a bunch of wires going too it. when the quad was built they twisted the wires and pretty sure pinched them in the frame. there was about 4 of them burnt! I cut and replaced the burnt sections and rerouted the mess & everything is good now. Suzuki would do nothing for him since it was just out of warrenty & a new harness was big $$$ so take a look.

Hope it helps!

Rags I like your idea...that sounds promising.

I havent added anything to this quad actually DDonkey...the quad i really messed with my BF750 has no issues and i darn near replaced everything the factory sent.

I had the same problem with my ozark I was riding it hard through some brush and then all the sudden she shut off so I took off the seat and checked my fuse and it was burn pretty good. Make sure your bike is set back into nuetral and everything is turned off and try putting the fuse back in its problably like a 20 use or something near that. Then if it keeps burning the fuse there is a load somewhere that is drawing too much power so I would try looking at the cdi first because that sounds like it could be the problem or a wire that has been stripped due to riding or was burnt by the engine and is now bare and is hitting metal and shorting it out again so take a close look and make sure the wires are alright.

I have one but unfortunatly I can't copy it or scan it to send you being that I am deployed and it is in AZ, sorry. I bought the manual from the stealer for like $50. If I recall the wiring is the same on the '03, '04' and '05 so if anyone has one a manual for thoughs years you can use it, I think. I wish that I could help more, sorry, please keep us posted on what you find.
