Default Rims and wheels

I own a 03 z400 the bike is fast jet kit and full yoshi pipe i have holeshot hd tires in the rear and have really been considering buying a better pair of rims. They are really expensive and i dont see what is so good about them. I know they are lighter and i guess more durable but i dont see the point what are some pros and cons about dropping about 1 grand into rims.

Nothing is more durable than plain old Steel!! Two friends picked up Aluminum rims for their quads, and regret it already. We went on a rough trail ride on alot of logs and rocks. Now their tires leak because the have a bunch of dents in their rims, but not mine! Aluminum is great for racing, sand dunes, tracks, and looks. But if you want to do serious hardcore 4x4 rough riding, i would stick with steel.

i was really inerested in the hiper carbon fibers with single or dual beadlock the money part isnt that big of a deal but will they withstand the beating like plain old steel can.

stay away from the carbon fiber if your only riding trails. steel wheels are better for heavy trail riding. nothing sucks more than bending or breaking an aluminum or carbon wheel while deep in the woods. like what was said by v2rider aluminun and carbon wheels are great for duning and racing
and tracks. dont waist your money on the carbon wheels, they're not that strong for trail riding

Hey yoshi, if its the shiny aluminum look your after, look at my pics. Those are steel rims, with the chrome option. A little more money, but they look nice!
