does the 2004 z 400 have the same frame problems as 2003 models ?? thanks nick

front shock mounts cracking where its welded to the frame

Other than a new frame, what type of fix will work to repair that? A good weld, or something more?

gussets kits ot or homemade gussets will fix this problem

Any idea how much the kits are? I'm going to look at a used 03 tomorrow and willl be taking whatever the cost to repair it (if needed) would be off the price.

if you know how to weld kits are about 80 100 dollars plus paint so i figure it would cost yu 100 with paint done by yourself

yeah but get an 05 or better...woth the clutch cover replacement...the older you get them the less reliable. it doesnt seem like it but put the extra 1000 in and ull get it out
