King Quad Air Filter Need Help!
#1
I've been reading all the complaints about the factory paper airfilter. I felt mine wasnt leaking but I decided to replace it. I bought a UNI and installed it like the directions said. I used yamalube air filter oil, because I happen to have it already. After I installed it my bike wont start. I removed the filter and started the engine then installed the air fifter and the engine died. I then removed the air filter revved the engine and put it back in place. It began to idle after this. It is still very restrictive. Poor bottom end and reduced top end. I didnt use but just a small amount of oil on my filter and then squeezed the excess. Any advice. Thanks.

Dont think im calling you dumb, but is the filter in upside down? Put the old one back in, and try it again to verify its the filter. Also, dont run it alot without any filter in it, or you can burn a hole in your piston. One other problem may be the mixture screw.

The problem to me seems like the oil that you put on the filter is restricting your quad from getting any air at all and this is why you are seeing trouble with it its just like if you soaked the filter in water and put it in it wouldn't start because you aren't getting any air in the intake. Try cleaning the oil off of the filter and then try again.
