New tires for eiger.
#1
Well i have an 06 auto 4 wheel drive eiger that I have been wanting new tires for. I finally pulled the trigger yesterday as I ordered 25 inch mudlite xtr tires. I wanted a tire that was good on hard pack and can get me out of a little mud every now and then. I hope I made a good choice. I also stuck with 25 so I wouldnt lose any power but now I am thinking I should of went with 26 inch but oh well. Anyone tried the xtr tires on an eiger before or experience with them on any bike?

I too like using the stock sizes on the lesser powered bikes....I'm not a big fan of my Mudlites but to each his own (leaky beads, goofy handling sometimes)...You'll like them I'm sure. The XTR's are a good choice

I have the same Mudlites on my Eiger - switched out from the OEM tire this winter. Although I've only managed to ride twice since then (7 day a week work schedule followed by fracturing both wrists) I could tell a real difference. Aside from really clawing it's way throgh mud, the biggest difference I noticed is that the front end doesn't dip as much when coming downhill on an of-camber. I haven't really noticed any changes in top speed.

I just put the 26" Mudlite XTRs on my 04 Eiger Manual.
I like them alot. I did loose a little power on the high end and have to down shift a little more than before but the better traction is worth it.
They handle different, and it took a while to get used to it. I have put about 50 miles on the new tires and I think I am used to it now. I do not slide as much as the stock tires but runs through mud in 2WD now.
I think they are a good tire.
I do not know what a 25" vs a 26" will do for performance but you probably will get more power with the 25".

The MudLites are a great choice IMO. I've had my 26" for almost a years and have not experianced any issues with air loss ect.. Great tire, hooks up well, and looks great. I sometimes wish I wouldhave went for the 25' but maybe with a new pipe the power will return.

I was just out playing in the mud with an Eiger, Bigbear 400 , and a Kawi 650 (all stock) First it was just me , eiger, big bear and they we impressed how I was getting about on my stock dunlops (4500km) and we were saying we would do much better with some good tires than the kawi came along and all I got to say is I need some 26" Mud Lite XL tires the Kawi had em and it was sick how he was getting around and the mud that was going.
