KQ 300 price check
#1
I know there are threads on this topic already, but some are old, and I thought I'd try to get an updated appraisal.
I used to post here years ago, but decided I was tired of hauling quads and bought a road bike. I'm now tired of burying buddies because of idiot drivers, and I'm now going back to quads. I found a 1998 KQ 300, lady says it has 2400 miles and is in "real good" condition. She is asking $2500, but knows I wont pay that much and is willing to entertain offers.
What is a reasonable price for this?
I have owned one before. I think it was a 2001 or 02 that I bought new. Also had a Sportsman 500HO, and other than deep goey mud or sand dunes, I liked riding the KQ just as much as the 500. I also like the fact that they are bullet proof.
Any help on a reasonable price would be appreciated. I just saw a 1997 go on Ebay for $1725.
Thanks,
Dave

I got my old beat up abused 1999 kingquad 300 for $1200 but I also restored it and put about 2 grand into it. So I would say if it's in good condition like the crappy drum brakes are still working especially the back brake and it has a good air filter, good seat, good fenders, if the rack is not bent, handlebars are not bent, I would say tell her either $1800 or $2000. Kingquad 300 is a good bike but it's not a mud machine like some of the other machines and I really hate the drum brakes especially the back brake because it is used as the parking brake. I have pictures on my profile. Think really hard before you buy this bike. I have had no problems with my bike but I think I would rather have gotten a bike with disk brakes and alittle more power. But really if it's a general work hunting bike you seek the kingquad 300 is a good choice.

Thanks for the reply.
I got some pictures. It really looks pretty good. Plastic is all good, racks perfectly straight, handlebars right where they should be, seat looks like new.
I do know about it being underpowered. I had one before. By biggest reason for wanting to buy one now is for getting firewood in and out of the sticks. Cant imagine any quad new or old that would be better at that particular task.
Thanks again,
Dave
