hi I just bought a 2005 suzuki z400 and the fan that cools the engine is not working anyone know if this is normal???

 

I have an o4 and mine only runs when it has been ridden hard or it is really hot outside. after you ride shut the bike off and turn your key all the way the the right.(lights on position) I do that every time to check mine.

 

Yea mine only comes on when I'm riding really slow in the woods for a while, and I mean 1st gear just creeping along less than half throttle......

I don't think it ever comes on while I'm moving unless it is like 100-degrees and I'm just beating the **** out of it.

 

Well the Fan not working is not normal...

The stock Z-fan has a drain hole in the bottom of it, with a tube that runs up 1st & not out.. sometime it does not let All the crap that the fan gets in it out.

I hav seen this in 3 Z's (mine for 1) the fan will get water in it or whatever & the fan motor will rust & seize up..

Do a search on this forum for Fans theirs alot of posts on this, should help ya a bit more[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/img]
