New plow for my king
#1
I just got done putting together my new 60" moose plow for my king quad, and i have to take my hat off to moose. Fit and finish is very good. Then only thing they could change is making the directions a bit easyer to follow. But even at that it only took about an hour from the box to pushin some snow. Now all that im waitin for is some white stuff. In case you was wondering what the 60 inch plow looks like hit my link below. I hope to have some inaction pics on there soon.

Hey Bill sup???, No I havent gotten anything yet, hence xmas approaching us so very quickly and with 4 boyz to buy presents for. Im still doin my home work on the pending tire purchase. But I thinking of a couple different tire combos. So far i like the mudrunners, 489/589's,blackwaters and the vamps. (In no particular order)I just emailed Mike Smith over at highlifter and Im in the processes of making a desision on which tire combo Im goin with. All I can tell ya it was easyer to decide on the name of my last son then to make this choice.(dont tell the wife =).

I put together & hooked up my 60" Moose a couple of weeks ago, looks like I get to break it in right tonight. We had 5" on the ground this morning & it's been snowing all day. I agree the Moose is an awesome plow. I set the instructions aside & figured it out on my own (they were a little vague in areas). I'm going to take some action shots tonight as well. Have Fun!!

Hi Rob, I saw your pics, looks great. However, I have a Country plow and it's only 48 inches wide. We got six to seven inches of snow here in Michigan and I was having a hard time of it at times due to wet snow. I don't think tires are going to help very much on concrete, do you? But I'm kind of in the same situation as you. Gonna wait until after the holidays to purchase anything but I want wheels and tires so I have the ability to go back if need be. Thinking I will want to use these for winter riding. What do you think?

Well Chuck,
I dont have too much to base the performance on yet ,but i had about 6 inches of semi wet snow fall here the other day. And I plowed my 100 ft concrete drive with out too much prob. As a matter of fact i was havin soo much fun i went down the street plowing 5 of my neighbors drives out. The only prob i had is when i plowed about 75 ft down my drive and plowed the other 25 ft to the pile that i already had. Once that was done i went off the side to push the snow off the drive and with a really good pile to move it took me a bit to move it all. I too will be getting wheels for my quad so that when we go out of town ill have a spare set of tire to use. Btw where did you mount your gps? And did you know office depo is running a mondo sale on all of their gps's. I bought another garmin gps III+ for 99 bucks. Brand new and not referbished. More later, ROb

Thanks for the response Rob but did you offer to purchase a Garmin GPS III Plus for someone? At the price you show, everybody will be after you to get one for them. I just got back from NC. and used my GPS III, which did have enough map info to do what I consider, barely helpful. That is a very good price for a GPS III Plus. It should fit very well in your bracket too.

Tires will help pushing the snow. I have plowed my driveway as well as my neighbors about 4 times this year. One time we had over 14" of snow on the ground (I live near Lake Erie, lake effect snow). My 500 quadrunner does a lot better with the 27" blackwater XT's over the stock 25" dunlops. Tires will help, but it is not a truck. Weight is what you need. I have never ran out of power pushing snow or gravel, just traction.

We arnt to far from each other.You ever do any riding on 534 in geneva on the lake??. I too being from the painesville area get the lake effect and so far i havent had any prob pushin any snow yet.
The way I push the snow I have a pile to move when im done and ive takin my machine through the middle of it with no prob at all. Heck I got to close to my drainage ditch and dropped the front end down in it. I pulled back on the reverse lever and with the front end locked and in low range I walked rite out without any tire spin. Just to set the sceen the drop off is about 2-1/2 feet. Now when I take my king through the middle of a 3 foot pile it just digs in and gets it done. Now i know in some peoples eyes the king isnt the best machine out there, but i gotta tell ya im simply impressed with the performance so far. Im not racer, I just love the mud and beatin down the trail and a comfortable pace and the king just keeps gettin the job done. More pics soon i hope, later, Rob

Hi Rob;
I was wondering if you have had a chance to use your new plow. I am considering a King Quad and was wondering does this machine have enoung power to push a 60" plow on long driveways ?
I also want to use this machine for hunting purposes, in and out of farm fields. Do you see any problems with ground clearance's ?
One last thing. What is the top end speed ? and how has reliability been ?
Keep on Pushin!!!!!!
