LTZ 250 valve clearance question

Default LTZ 250 valve clearance question

Can someone tell me what the valve clearence setings should be on an 07 LT-Z 250. Any info on the procedure would be appreciated. Thank you for any help in advance.

not sure about the 250 what the clearance numbers are but im guessing somewhere around .005...from what I know about checking valves you will need to find a case on the side of the engine or a screw and take it out exposing the tdc mark on the crankshaft, take the valve cover off and make sure that the piston is at tdc(check the valve clearances and if everything is up to spec don't change anything),im not sure if the 250 has a decompressor or shim under buckets but you should be able to get a print from the dealer telling you how to do valve clearances on the z 250...If you don't have many hours on the bike you should be fine.

the tools you should need besides wrenches and all of that are:feeler gauge,torque wrench,micrometer,locktite,and assembly lube

Thanks for the info, i will see if the dealer will send me anything, I did not feel like paying for the service manual.

Default LTZ 250 valve clearance question

I am telling you from what I know of my ds650 valve adjustment there is a difference but for the most part the procedure is the same...the dealer should give you a printout telling you how to do a valve adjustment and make sure you get the torque specs for the bolts also.
