Hi everyone i am wondering if this would be a good drag race.. 300ft drag also just a top end race string it out and back off of it... a 1987 Lt250r LRD pipe with silencer, Port and polished head, big bore kit, Uni airfilter, 36mm mikuni D-slide carb, 11tooth front sprocket with a 40 tooth rear sprocket, i know it has a Hot rod in the Lt but im not sure abt the crank.. Im thinking its a stroker crank.., 20in dirt hooks, and thats abt it... Aginst a raptor 660 with a K&N airfilter and jet kit,, stock gearing and everything else... so would i smoke tha raptor or what? im racing him Next weekend and im wondering what to expect... Please tell me with or without the stroker crank b/c i dont know if it truely has one or not.. thanks for your time.

I cant say your 250 would win because you just dont know until you race.But some people dont realize how fast 250 two strokes can be.Me and my buddy have quadzillas and we raced a kawasaki tekate 250 at Little Sahara OK and he beat us BAD.My brother had a banshee that was ported,drag pipes and on alcohol and he raced a honda 250r at St. Joes and the 250 beat him.The 250 at St. Joes was beating everybody on that day.I know stock these 250s wouldnt have won but man with the right kind of mods, they will fly.I'd hate to bet against you on your race with the 660

 

With those mods, a good rider, and if the engine is tuned correctly, the raptor will lose. Everyone on here does not realize how fast a lt250r is. its a light bike with lots of power modded. If you can ride well, you have nothing to worry about.

 

the 250 two strokes are quick. the motor is the same as a 450 four stroke. thats why when the pros race in the 250 class they either have a 250-2 stroke or a 450 -4 stroke, the 250 might not have the torque but they do have speed. ive raced my bosses 88-250R and he comes close to beating me and his is still stock except for the pipe and nothing else ever done to it

 

pros cant race the 250's anymore....i have no idea why....BS IMHO

 

ok what about top end?? remember everyone i went down 1 tooth on the front sprocket.... its an 11 tooth so how ever many that iz down from stock... so thats going to help in the 300ft drag..
