You will loose a little power but not too much. The larger rim will make the tire weight VERY similar to what the stock wheel/tire combo is. The biggest change you will see is that each gear will be longer than what it is now, and you'll have another 1" of ground clearance. If you do a lot of REAL low speed riding in 1st gear then you might not like it. But otherwise I have liked getting the taller tires on my Ozark.
What kind of riding do you do?

is 1" extra ground clearance really necessary? That is, do bigger tires perform better or just look better. 1" more on a 2wd ozark still leaves one without front wheel drive to pull over a log. How about just using 22" super swamp tires if they make them? The ozark already has 8 inch clearance, or so the specs say.

You would be surprised. Most of the big cc machines out there have 10" to 12" of ground clearance stock. So, when they start making some ruts, they are going to be anywhere from 10" to 12" deep. If you have 8" of ground clearance then it doesn't matter what kind of tires you have, you will high center your Ozark.
My Ozark has almost 11" of ground clearance at the back axle due to the taller tires. With the large tires, I don't high center nearly as often.
As far as getting over trees in the trail, it's no big deal at all. It's all about technique when dealing with a small ............... errrr........... ummm....... tool.

The best thing about ground clearance is for riding in really rough terrain, I have taken my old 250 yamaha 2x4 into really bad places and have not needed 4x4 but I could have used more ground clearance to help out.
