Ok I found a 485 stroker kit from lukesracing.com. Its the Hot Rods +5 stroker crank and the 94.5mm stroker piston. Now the question is do I do a 39mm FCR carb or the 41mm carb? Also how do you think this kit will work with stage 1 cams from Hot Cams. I know that they dont offer stage 2 anymore. Also going to port and polish the head and install DRZ valve springs. Also going down 1 tooth in the front to a 13. Got a RS-3 carbon exhaust and D.I.D cam chain. Can anyone think of anything else?
Thanks,
Nick

Stroke has nothing to do with needing race gas. Keep the compression under 12.5 to 1 and you can premium. Also, go with web cams if you want an advantage on everyone else. Call web cams and talk to melissa and she can recommend the right cams for you. There are 500cc+ big bore stroker kits....jus depends on how big you want. Bigger cc=bigger carb. 39mm carb will work good under 450cc. 41mm for a big bore stroker. The factor air filter flows jus as much air as an aftermarket.....kind of a waste.

It is true in a WAY. tif you were working on another bike it would be true. But...the z400 has a higher tolerance for compression because the way the cylinder head is designed. It was designed from the factory to run on put gas with 12to1 compression, the drz400 comes with 12.2to1 factory. I have a little over 12to1 and mine runs happily on 93. it does not clatter even lugging the engine. Jus a lil food for thought........its the little things that count to make you faster than the next guy.

There are only two places to get the Yoshi Stroker.
One is directly from Yoshimura in CA. Call Justin Rupert over at Yoshimura R&D in Chino CA (1-909-628-4722 ext 428)
The other is from the East Coast Yoshi Builder, Chris Grissom. He built all of Yokley's motors. You can contact him at Suzuki of Paris, (731) 642-0511
You can talk to these guys about your compression. They have been doing it for years and years and they can tell you exactly what you need to do.
If you aren't trying to stay under 450cc's, which I'm assuming you aren't as you are looking at the 485 kit from Lukes, you can also try Maxpower for a 510 kit. Or if you are looking for ridiculousness, Tudor's has a 536 kit. The Maxpower 510 ice cube kit should be the most reliable as they use a billet cylinder, but it's also the most expensive.
