Default LT230S HELP

Hi guys,
I'm new here so please bear with me. I have a 1986 LT230S that I have owned for about ten years. When I first purchased it I could start it with one or two kicks. Now it seems to take me for ever to get it started. I gave in and took it to a dealer to let them to do their magic. After $400 (rebuilt carb and new air cleaner...) it's a little better but not much. Took me about 15-20 minutes to get it started after it sat for six days. Once I get it running it runs like new, it's just getting it to start that's the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for your help. The dealer told me the compression is very good. The spark plug gap could be a problem, will check it out. Thanks again, Jim
