Default New Vinson 500

I just bought a manual vinson a couple of months ago and was wondering if there were any suggestions on any upgrades I should do. I've been reading the posts and it seems that most have upgraded the air filter, what is the best brand to go with?

I also was wondering if it is normal to hear the valves tapping when your in too high of a gear at low rpm (sometimes have trouble shifting due to large snow boots and snow build up around the shifter).

Jet kit is a must. If you do any mods you will have to rejet. If noise aint a problem a pipe and jet kit really helps alot.

How much $$$ do you want to spend? What are you expecting to gain?
I think most bikes valves rattle for a while til they get broken in, then they will quiet down a little. If it bothers you the dealer will check them on the first service. Go with the Amsoil synthetic oil also. The air filter by itself is not going to help you, power wise.

If you want more power,

K&N air filter- $50.00
Diamond G racing snorkel-$50.00
Dynojet kit - $50.00
HMF exhaust- $200.00
Webcam- $128.00
EPI clutch kit (manual)- $50.00
All of these mods you can do yourself with a few hand tools and a little time and patience.
