lt500 cylinder

Default lt500 cylinder

i just blew my base gasket on my zilla?do i have to take the motor out to remove the cylinder?it looks so close!
any help would be great

you don't have to, BUT it is alot easier to pull the engine to do it. i have done it before, and won't do it again.

I haven't done a LT, but on my old 250r you did not have to remove the whole motor to get the cylinder off, however as stated before; the time it takes to remove the motor v.s. the time and frustration of pulling the cylinder out with motor in frame, I would suggest pulling the motor. Save yourself from needing a couple aspirin[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

Hi,
SBT is correct, pull the motor.
I make "no-blow" base gaskets for them in several thicknesses BTW.
