sand killing eiger brakes

Default sand killing eiger brakes

i went riding last weekend and now my front brake pads are killed from rinding in sandy mud...the dry sand didnt affect them too much i dont think. is there some sort of special pad i can get?

I use EBC brake pads. They make a brand called SV which stands for severe duty. Expect to pay about $30 a pair so they're a bit pricey. You can check them out on atvdirect.com. I use these on both my quad and my offroad buggy. The buggy was really eating up brake pads since the rear was always in the mud. Literally, with garden variety pads, I would have to readjust them after a day's ride since so much got eaten up. Thus far the EBC SV pads are holding up fairly well.
